After years of working for various standby rescue companies, we saw too many poorly trained rescue technicians, too many cookie cutter rescue plans with no consideration for real-world conditions, and too much time spent sitting in trucks waiting for the shift to end. We wanted standby rescue to be an important and useful part of the construction or maintenance process, not just a box to tick and forget about. We started building a training curriculum that surpasses the minimum requirements, expanding our knowledge into other areas of rescue, and envisioning a culture unlike any other company offering standby rescue services: technicians who are active on site and monitor dynamic conditions, unique rescue plans created specifically for each hazard, and on-site training and pre-rigging to ensure no delays in the event of a rescue situation. Our approach to these issues was two-fold: begin collecting a roster of proven rescue technicians who would buy into the Mainline culture, and leverage our expertise to consult with owner's groups on the efficacy of their standby rescue solutions.
